The Parish of Newington is looking for a new Parish Clerk
Role Outline
The Parish Clerk prepares the agenda, and takes the minutes, for the 6 Parish Council Meetings held each year. The Clerk deals with all correspondence, manages the website, and deals with enquiries from the public. The role of the Parish Clerk is to facilitate the work of the Councillors and to carry out decisions made by them, working closely with the Chairman of the Council. As Clerk you would be at the heart of local affairs.
Role Details
The job is approx. 4 hours per week (flexible hours). The salary is £13.50 per hour, plus expenses.
The Council meets 6 times per year, typically on a Tuesday evening at Newington Parish Church.
You will work remotely and flexibly, except for attending the 6 meetings per year. You do not need to live in Newington, however you need to be happy to travel to Newington for these meetings, and occasionally to add printed materials to the village notice board.
The Ideal Person
Good administrative, interpersonal, and computer literacy skills are necessary. Suitable training will be provided as required.
